Waqf Community Impact

What is Waqf?

Waqf (plural: awqaf) is a form of philanthropy where individuals dedicate part or all of their assets to a religious or charitable purpose that is binding forever. In Islam, it is one of the three main forms of preserving heritage (along with Sadaqah and Zakat).

The Waqf asset remains in the ownership of the donor but is dedicated to a perpetual charitable purpose for the benefit of society, known as the "beneficiaries" (mustaḥiqqīn).
